When I’m in conversation with someone and they proclaim “that’s what I’m talkin’ about!”, I always ask a follow up question, like “Is it? Is that really what you’re talkin’ about? Because I want to be clear on what it is that you’re talkin’ ’bout. We’ve got to be accurate about the subject of our conversation.”

They usually pause, think for a moment, and then say “yeah, I uh… I guess that is what I am talking about.”

Then I say “Alright, we’ve got that cleared up! You’ve left no room for misinterpretation.”

And then they say “Polysyllabic spree! That’s what I’m talkin’ bou’!

I have neat friends.

About radamdavidson

When I'm not blogging, I'm hanging out with my family, pastoring a church, or listening to vinyl. I think and write about Jesus, music, communication, organizational leadership, family whatnot, and cultural artifacts from the 1980's -- mostly vintage boomboxes. You can read my blog at www.radamdavidson.com, watch [RadCast], a daily 3 minute video devotional, or find me on socials (@radamdavidson). I also help Pastors in their preaching and public speaking (www.CoachMyPreaching.com).
