Three levels here.
1) Don’t just stop doing negative. Avoid negative and neutral: go positive.
2) We do positive *not* to earn God’s favor or pay him back, but because this is the character quality of a Christ follower.
3) It might be worse than we assumed: it’s not that we stole, it’s that we kept what God intends to help others.

Before we let ourselves off the hook by calling our anger and rage “righteous”, let’s ask the question of scripture in context.

I have the privilege of writing the message for this Sunday at Central. What we say matters. But *why* do we say what we say? Get to the source. Only an accurate diagnosis can lead to the cure.

Humility + accepting people are messed up = room to become more like Christ.

Mom was right: I do need an attitude adjustment. Paul says the same thing to us in Ephesians 4. Before you scroll to the next thing, take a moment before the Lord and ask: How’s my attitude?

Paul says “you *were* taught.” There was a space between what they knew in their minds and how they lived it out. I have the same problem. We all do — we know what to do, but we don’t do it. Yet… in the community of the local church, we are surrounded by people who are a little farther ahead on the journey, whose gap between knowledge and practice are smaller, and who teach not just by content but by how they live.
You and I are called to the same. It’s how God changes people.

Same thing as yesterday but from another angle. I’m challenged by this. You?

God’s glory is evident in creation, provision, and blessing. Ours is a story of God’s blessing through difficult circumstances. So much could be said, but we simply say, with the psalmist, “I will sing the Lord’s praise; for he has been good to me.”
