I never noticed that the shepherd story is yet another testimony that it will be exactly as God described. They made a long journey to see a miracle baby and they rejoiced — because of Messiah AND because God was right.
He’s always right.
Do you trust Him this Christmas?

For some, Christmas is anything but festive. Today we’re reminded that the Light has come “to shine on those living in darkness and in the shadow of death….”
Be encouraged and know that there is Light, therefore, there is hope… especially at Christmas.

God’s glory is universal, whether people see it that way or not. However… God’s peace is specific, meaning that His followers carry the peace of God to a hurting world, wherever they are. Go and be the peace. And listen to “I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day” to get a glimpse of this tension. Our world needs peace. You have the peace of Christ. Go — bring the peace today!

The Jesus story contains at least three parts: His life & death, His resurrection & ascension, and His return. Today, here we are… in the middle of the story, waiting (again) for Jesus. The waiting is the hardest part BUT serving eases the tension of waiting… and it’s a mark of our faith in Christ, during Christmas and beyond.

We find ourselves at the feet of Jesus, bringing our gifts and ourselves for the sake of his glory. Yet, we are like Herod, resisting the call to worship — even pretending to worship — while at the same time protecting our own kingdom.
Worship is the antidote to pride. Humility is the path to renewal.

Jesus is already here, leading, rearranging the universe, worthy of worship. Talk about having our assumptions challenged! (Matthew 2:1-2)

He doesn’t just rescue us from sin — he becomes our leader eternal, uncorrupted and unseen, rivaled but unmatched! No wonder we give him the glory at Christmas!
