[RadCast] Don’t Listen to Your Heart (Psalm 16:7-8)

“Listen to your heart” is really terrible advice. Your heart doesn’t know what it wants, at least not in the long run. Sure, you can make impulse decisions (Almond Joy over Mounds, or Turn Left on Shaver Road) but the big stuff… that’s not to be trusted to your heart alone. God’s counsel, our attention on Him, and awareness of his presence shapes our hearts over time… but the source of wisdom needs to be Him, not us.

[RadCast] Good Hiding Spot (Psalm 16:1-2)

God provides divine safety, refuge, and every good thing. In a world wrecked by fear and motivated by subtle panic to just keep up, the Father offers a safe place and a reminder that He’s got the goods for us.

[RadCast] Crowd Sourced Sermon Prep (Psalm 16)

The Word of God is written to a community. This Sunday, I get the chance to share Psalm 16 with friends at The Springs Church. As I’m preparing, I wonder if you could chime in. What part of Psalm 16 stands out to you? What resonates with your soul? Where is God speaking in your life? Comment if you would! As you share, not only does it help me (thanks), it also propels the kind of community that we enjoy so much here on [RC]. Thanks in advance & remember: He *will* fill you with joy in his presence.

[RadCast] Remember the Sustainer (Psalm 3:5)

This morning I find myself pausing to give credit to God who, by His grace, keeps things moving in a beautiful natural system of life. When’s the last time we gave credit to God for getting us to sleep and waking us up?

[RadCast] The Next Chapter of Ministry (2 Tim 4:3-5)

Paul encourages Timothy to do his thing no matter the opposition. Just as now, there were people who were pulled off track by distraction and desire rather than sticking with the Truth. It happens, and it’s sad. But we can’t give up. I’m grateful for the church. We need the church. We need each other.

[RadCast] Church Hurt: Purity Culture

**Parental Advisory** This is not the one to listen to on the way to their elementary school.
God calls us to be pure, to remember that our bodies are temples. Back in the 90’s and 00’s, a movement within the evangelical church had good intention but has shown to be damaging for some. The way the church viewed intimacy, the role of husbands and wives, and used shame as a motivator has caused church hurt. That’s what we’re talking about today.

[RadCast] Church Hurt: One-Anothers

We continue our conversation about church hurt today. Peter tells us to be like minded, sympathetic, loving, compassionate and humble. Why does Peter tell the church to act this way? They weren’t. What happens when Christians don’t do this with each other? Damage.
People will disappoint us. We will disappoint others.

[RadCast]Church Hurt: Leadership

Today we talk about how principles of corporate leadership took precedence over discipleship, which led to prioritizing numbers and customer service over unity and maturity. It wasn’t all bad, but it wasn’t all good either.
