[RadCast] Don’t Listen to Your Heart (Psalm 16:7-8)

“Listen to your heart” is really terrible advice. Your heart doesn’t know what it wants, at least not in the long run. Sure, you can make impulse decisions (Almond Joy over Mounds, or Turn Left on Shaver Road) but the big stuff… that’s not to be trusted to your heart alone. God’s counsel, our attention on Him, and awareness of his presence shapes our hearts over time… but the source of wisdom needs to be Him, not us.

About radamdavidson

When I'm not blogging, I'm hanging out with my family, pastoring a church, or listening to vinyl. I think and write about Jesus, music, communication, organizational leadership, family whatnot, and cultural artifacts from the 1980's -- mostly vintage boomboxes. You can read my blog at www.radamdavidson.com, watch [RadCast], a daily 3 minute video devotional, or find me on socials (@radamdavidson). I also help Pastors in their preaching and public speaking (www.CoachMyPreaching.com).
