On Fatherhood: Family Devotions

Yesterday we were reading about Daniel & the Lion’s Den as we ate a delightful dinner of tilapia, asparagus, rice a la Chef Emily. We talked with the kids about how Daniel was in the lion’s den, safe from being eaten because the Lord kept the lion’s mouths shut. We talked about God’s grace, mercy and protection over those who are committed to walk with Him. Malachi got it, except for one part: how did a turtle keep the lion’s mouth shut? I mean, a turtle?

No, son. An Angel of the Lord. Not a turtle of the Lord.

Ah. That makes more sense.

One has to admit that a turtle of the Lord is intriguing…
