RadicILL

Last week ol’ Doc Washburn told me I had strep throat. So I took the pills, drank plenty of fluids, worked a little. This week ol’ Doc Washburn told me I have tonsillitus, pharyngitis, otitis media (ear infection). So I took the pills, drank fluids, worked a little less.
Should have rested more. Now I have no choice. It’s not going away, as it did in the olden days of my collegehood.

Thought the pills would fix it.
Thought I was bouncing back but I’m not. Huh. Guess I’m not 26 anymore. I’m 27. This explains the impending baldness.

I’m going to take some antibiotics and drink some dreaded tea… bleechhh.

Hopeuflly I’ll feel better soon. This is boring. But I’ve been passing the time by watching Tim and Eric Awesome Show Great Job, which has renewed my hope in thoughtful satire.

It has also given me time to think about the fact that I am not indestructable (and I never was!) Sabbath is important, especially when you have a lot going on. And having a good wife is more valuable than pearls, as Emily has taken such good care of us. She’s a Proverbs 31 woman through and through. So, as I recover, the Lord is reminding me to be restful, thankful, and to be reminded that balance comes only from Him.

I’ve also learned that NyQuil doesn’t taste like “cherry flavor”, as they so boldly proclaim.

About radamdavidson

When I'm not blogging, I'm hanging out with my family, pastoring a church, or listening to vinyl. I think and write about Jesus, music, communication, organizational leadership, family whatnot, and cultural artifacts from the 1980's -- mostly vintage boomboxes. You can read my blog at www.radamdavidson.com, watch [RadCast], a daily 3 minute video devotional, or find me on socials (@radamdavidson). I also help Pastors in their preaching and public speaking (www.CoachMyPreaching.com).
