John P. Burgess writes “Love is not adequately defined b y human conceptions of what provides for a good order.” Thought provoking, especially in light of 1 John 4:7-8, where we’re instructed to love one another… but why? Ultimately, it’s not merely that we love each other but rather that we know God and, in that knowing, genuine love is the supernatural result.
