We often read Old Testament passages about kings and thrones and imagine a Middle Earth scenario that has little relevance for today. Quite the contrary: the promise of King David is fulfilled in King Jesus. He is the King we need, and it’s His perfect rule which lasts forever. Advent builds in us a hope for that kind of King.
