Thanksgiving 2015

Thankful?  Quite.  Ten reasons, no order:

  1. I’m thankful to spend Thanksgiving with my sister and her family.
  2. I’m thankful to be drinking coffee while listening to Manuel Göttsching’s excellent album E2-E4.
  3. I’m thankful for God’s mercy in Christ, brand new this morning and every morning.
  4. I’m thankful for whoever thought “let’s turn these pumpkins into pie” and ran with the idea.
  5. I’m thankful for Franklin R. Whipped, inventor of Whipped Cream.
  6. I’m thankful for the person who said “This pumpkin pie is incomplete without some kind of topping.  Hey!  How about this?”
  7. I’m thankful that it’s not snowing so much here that travel is a wildcard.  I like snow, but I like it better when it closes school, not cancels Thanksgiving.
  8. I’m thankful for my family.  For our daughter, as she enjoys the morning as only she can, for our sons, who can turn the greenest of carpet into the reddest of molten lava to be avoided couch-to-couch, and for my wonderful wife, who, through the alchemy of flammable sprays, makes her hair into a beautiful and wild mane.
  9. I’m thankful that Thanksgiving weekend feels like three Saturdays in a row.  I keep expecting a Michigan game to pop up, but it’s only Thursday.
  10. I’m thankful for the people of Portage Free Methodist Church who make it a joy and privilege to serve in Pastoral ministry.  We are blessed, encouraged, supported, and loved — and that’s something to be thankful for.

About radamdavidson

When I'm not blogging, I'm hanging out with my family, pastoring a church, or listening to vinyl. I think and write about Jesus, music, communication, organizational leadership, family whatnot, and cultural artifacts from the 1980's -- mostly vintage boomboxes. You can read my blog at www.radamdavidson.com, watch [RadCast], a daily 3 minute video devotional, or find me on socials (@radamdavidson). I also help Pastors in their preaching and public speaking (www.CoachMyPreaching.com).
