StayCation day 2

Our family is on vacation.  Paris, perhaps?  Non. Germany? Nein!

Rather than travel abroad, we’re vacationing right where we live, right here in beautiful Southwest Michigan, where we don’t have to worry about passports and exchange rates.  Money spent on travel and lodging is instead used to indulge in all the local amenities that we drive past every day on the way to work and school.  It’s a vacation where we stay home and relax.  I’m going to start calling it a HomeCation. Now that I see that on the screen, I’m going to go back to the more traditional StayCation.™  If you’d like, you can read about day one here.

Day Two

Visited: The Kalamazoo Air Zoo

Experienced: Airplanes, spaceplanes, pedagogical placards

Said aloud: The screen looks better when you wear these 3D glasses / How did Galileo’s hand fall off?

Visited: Habitat For Humanity ReStore, Portage

Experienced: Robot parts galore, easily accessible drinking fountain for the kids

Said aloud: I don’t see a drinking fount…yes I do / Does your arm fit into this dryer vent hose?

Visited: Nick’s Gyros, Portage

Experienced: Excellent Greek food, variety

Said aloud: This whole restaurant is on wheels / I’m going back to the truck because it’s hot

Evening Movie: NA.  Played Ghostbusters on the Nintendo Wii

Takeaway: I should’ve kept the Firehouse and Ecto 1 from my childhood

Day 3 will naturally follow day 2
