On Inviting People to Church (3 minute audio).

I’ve been encouraging people to extend an invitation to friends/family/neighbors/coworkers to come to church this Easter.  It’s scary, but it can be done!

What barriers tend to keep normal people away from Church?  The reasons are many, though they can often be boiled down to:

1) their fear that God’s judgement will strike them as a lightning bolt in the pew.

2) their irritation with judgemental, holier-than-thou Christians.

Thankfully, both of these ideas don’t stand a chance against the Gospel…

Acts 10:34-35: “Then Peter began to speak: “I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism but accepts people from every nation who fear him and do what is right.

Acts 10:43: “All the prophets testify about him that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.”
