Zac, Wrapped in Swaddling Pampers

You know those kids at school that had a birthday right next to Christmas Day? My kid is one of those kids. Zac’s birthday, which is remarkably close to December 25 (some might mention the difference by mere hours), will always make Christmas both delightful and confusing. Delightful because, well, we’re thankful for the blessing of children and glad to celebrate Jesus and Zac. Confusing because we’re telling him that “this is for your birthday, but THIS is for Christmas”, which would be confusing to some adults, let alone a 2 year old. Don’t worry — we’re not going to be the kind of parents that sum present totals, making outlandish statements that thinly veil our laziness, statements like “this last gift is for your birthday and Christmas — Jumper Cables! By Fisher Price!” will never be uttered. Starting when he’s 6.

About radamdavidson

When I'm not blogging, I'm hanging out with my family, pastoring a church, or listening to vinyl. I think and write about Jesus, music, communication, organizational leadership, family whatnot, and cultural artifacts from the 1980's -- mostly vintage boomboxes. You can read my blog at www.radamdavidson.com, watch [RadCast], a daily 3 minute video devotional, or find me on socials (@radamdavidson). I also help Pastors in their preaching and public speaking (www.CoachMyPreaching.com).
