He talks about Spider Man with uncanny regularity, somehow working the superhero into every context.
“Daddy, I bet that Spider Man likes eggs, because I know I do and because they make you strong, like Spider Man.”

“You’re right. Now please keep eating your eggs, Malachi.”

Although Spider Man is the overarching theme, other superheroes appear on his conversational landscape from time to time.
“If The Hulk and Aqua Man got into a fight, who do you think would win?”
“Well.. probably the one who ate the most eggs.”
“Yeah. Probably Hulk.”
“Because he at the most eggs?”
“No, just because he’s stronger.”

I should also mention that he has a firm belief that Robin is the boss of Batman, as if the whole hierarchy is a sham and that we all see it backwards. I wonder what it is that makes him think that the lesser is the more, then I realize how much control he wields at home and it starts to make sense.

Happy (belated) birthday wishes from your Dad via his rickety old blog. I’m very, very, very happy that you’re my son.
