Thanks to Commodore and to YouTube

You both know what you’ve done.

Commodore, you came out with the Vic-20 computer and sold it to my cousin Rob at a Service Merchandise. Rob used to put it in its box and take it over to our house to play Radar Rat Race and Omega Race at our kitchen table. After a while, Rob just left it at our house and I learned how to program in basic. Here is one of my favorite programs:

10 print “hellow” (programmers note: as a first grader, I iked to put w’s on the end of words)
20 goto 10
run

The computer is long gone and so is my award winning program. It’s only a memory. But thanks to YouTube, I can watch videos that document the old breadbox and fondly remember former days.

About radamdavidson

When I'm not blogging, I'm hanging out with my family, pastoring a church, or listening to vinyl. I think and write about Jesus, music, communication, organizational leadership, family whatnot, and cultural artifacts from the 1980's -- mostly vintage boomboxes. You can read my blog at www.radamdavidson.com, watch [RadCast], a daily 3 minute video devotional, or find me on socials (@radamdavidson). I also help Pastors in their preaching and public speaking (www.CoachMyPreaching.com).
