Cereal w/ Chocolate Milk

This morning Malachi, age 4, walked into the kitchen on a mission. Mission title: Operation Breakfast. Mission goal: The consumption of breakfast product, specifically of a cereal-type. Mission bonus: Chocolate milk in the cereal instead of white. Mission victory: total parental compliance, hunger satiated.

“Daddy, can I have some cereal?”

“Sure, buddy. We’ve got Cheerios, Apple Cinnamon Cheerios, Non-Brand Cheerios (Oatey-O’s) Honey Bunches of Something.”

“Cheerios, please” (He’s quite polite for a 4 year old)

“Sure thing, Lad.”

“With Chocolate milk?”

“No. Regular milk in your cereal.”

Holding a box, Malachi asks “Is this the Cinnamon flavored Honey Bunches of Oats?”

“Yup.”

“Great! It will turn the white milk brown! It will turn the white milk brown! That’s what I want.”

Mission accomplished, one semi-casualty.
