Mmmm… free coffee. Mmmm… democracy.

They finally go together: free coffee and democracy. That’s what you’ll find if you hit up a Starbucks today. You walk in, say that you voted, and they give you a bit of coffee. For free. Some places aren’t asking whether you voted or not since they’re afraid of segregation, so all you have to say now is “I’d like a tall coffee” and they hook you up. For free.

My sister and I were in East Lansing. Instead of the secret passphrase, she just said to the Starbucks guy behind the counter “I think we both know why we’re here”. We drank free coffee seconds later.

It’s not just Starbucks that’s throwing around the free brew for voting. Other places are doing it, too.

When I'm not blogging, I'm hanging out with my family, pastoring a church, or listening to vinyl. I think and write about Jesus, music, communication, organizational leadership, family whatnot, and cultural artifacts from the 1980's -- mostly vintage boomboxes. You can read my blog at www.radamdavidson.com, watch [RadCast], a daily 3 minute video devotional, or find me on socials (@radamdavidson). I also help Pastors in their preaching and public speaking (www.CoachMyPreaching.com).
