It’s called Recalling the hope of glory : biblical worship from the garden to the new creation by Allen P. Ross.
A few months ago I was praying — asking God to deepen my heart in the area of Worship. You’d think that, with the job title of “worship pastor”, I would already have this. I think I do; but I knew I needed to keep growing aside from my “job”, although the better my relationship with the Lord, the more “effective” ministry is. I put “effective” in “quotes” because I don’t want to sound too Church-growy, yet I’m not sure what else to call it. Anyway, in my relationship with the Lord, I wanted to grow deeper in the area of Worship. And wouldn’t you know it, this book is helping me to do so.
It’s academic to the extreme, trusting that you can already read Hebrew & Greek. Already I have let the book down! But that’s okay, because it makes me look up stuff. I’ve only gotten through the first 100 pages, but I highly reccomend it for anyone who 1) wants that deeper heart for what’s really supposed to happen in Worship and 2) wants a fat book to fill up their bookshelves and 3) can spend $40.00 on something that doesn’t even light up.

Seriously, though, I think it’s a book I’ll keep coming back to. Worship leader? Pastor? Student? Christian? Read it.

When I'm not blogging, I'm hanging out with my family, pastoring a church, or listening to vinyl. I think and write about Jesus, music, communication, organizational leadership, family whatnot, and cultural artifacts from the 1980's -- mostly vintage boomboxes. You can read my blog at www.radamdavidson.com, watch [RadCast], a daily 3 minute video devotional, or find me on socials (@radamdavidson). I also help Pastors in their preaching and public speaking (www.CoachMyPreaching.com).
